Meridian State Park Information:
This 505 acre park is located on the 72 acre (no wake) Lake Meridian which was formed when the CCC (Civilian Conservation Corps) constructed a rock and earthen dam on Bee Creek. The CCC built many of the rustic park structures between 1933 and 1934. The area was originally settled by the Tonkawa Indians, and later by the Tawakoni Indians prior to 1841. Habitat consists of wooded areas with Ashe juniper, oak and abundant plants and wildflowers. The rocky cliffs offer wonderful views of the lake. Park activities include camping, picnicking, fishing, swimming, no wake boating, hiking, nature viewing, birding and bike riding. Park entrance and camping fees apply. For more park information, watch the Park Video.
