Lake Bastrop Information:
Lake Bastrop was formed in 1964 by damming Spicer Creek in the Colorado River Basin. Its maximum depth is 60 feet.The lake serves primarily as a cooling pond for the Sim Gideon Power Plant which is operated by the LCRA and the Lost Pines Power Project 1. Approximately one quarter of the shoreline of the Lake is privately owned by the Capitol Area Council, Boy Scouts of America. Both the North Shore and South Shore Parks feature many amenities including tent camping and RV sites, boat ramps, trails and picnic areas.

North Shore Park, LCRA:
Amenities include a one lane concrete boat ramp, a canoe and kayak launch, a boat dock, a fishing pier, a fish cleaning station, restrooms with and without showers, a volleyball court, lighting, RV sites with water and electric hookups, picnic tables and fire rings, tent campsites, a dump station, hiking trails, a picnic area with BBQ grills, a playground, a group picnic pavilion, a designated swimming area and parking. The park is located on the northeast corner of the lake off FM 1441. From Bastrop take SH 95 north. Go right on FM 1441, then go south on Northshore Park Road.

South Shore Park, LCRA:
This is the busier of the two lake parks. Amenities include canoe rentals, the reservable 120 person capacity air-conditioned Osprey Point Group Hall, hiking and biking trails, tetherball, a 1 lane concrete boat ramp, a boat dock, fishing pier, fish cleaning station, a picnic pavilion, a lakeside observation deck, a designated swimming area, a playground, picnic tables with BBQ grills, cabins, 12 waterfront RV sites with electricity and water, 6 RV sites with full hookups, 20 general use campsites with water and electricity, restrooms with showers, a dump station and parking. Osprey Point Hall may be rented in conjunction with the adjacent Osprey Point Cabins; Hall amenities include AC / heat, a catering kitchen with a commercial sink, refrigerator, buffet counter and icemaker, tables and chairs, private restrooms and a fireplace. Horseshoe pits, washer pits and a large group smoker/ BBQ are located outside of the Hall. Nearby day use amenities include a sand volleyball court, trails and a swimming area. Hall rental hours are 8pm-10pm. Hall Rental Information Only: (512) 498-1922.
