Fanthorp Inn State Historic Site

Fanthorp Inn State Historic Site Information:
This 1.4 acre site was a 19th century home and an early Texas stagecoach stop. The double-pen, cedar log dogtrot house was built in 1834 by Henry Fanthorp, a postmaster. Ten years were spent researching and restoring the Inn to its 1850 condition. It opened to the public on October 4, 1987. The house is furnished with period pieces and historic artifacts. Amenities include picnic tables, a gift store, and restrooms. Tours of the Inn and rides on the authentic replica of an 1850 Concord stagecoach are offered on Stagecoach Days on the second Saturday of each month, from 11am-3pm. The park also hosts other special events, and may be reserved for weddings and other events. Open Sat-Sun, 9am-3:30pm. Group tours are available Wed-Fri, by appointment. No entrance fees apply.
