Coleto Creek:
Coleto Creek is formed by the confluence of Fifteen-Mile Creek and Twelve-Mile Creek in Victoria County and flows southeast for twenty-five miles to its mouth on the Guadalupe River, six miles south of Victoria, Texas. The creek is impounded to form Coleto Creek Reservoir. The lake and the creek form a portion of the boundary between Goliad and Victoria Counties. Fifteen-Mile, Twelve-Mile and Three-Mile Creeks, the headwaters of Coleto Creek are so named because of their distances from the front door of the former DeWitt County Courthouse at Clinton, Texas.
Perdido Creek:
The creek rises 4 miles southeast of Weesatche in northern Goliad County. It formerly ran 17 miles southeast to its mouth on Coleto Creek. When the Coleto Creek Reservoir was impounded in the 1960s, the lower portion of the creek was inundated. The creek now enters the lake just north of Fannin, Texas.
