Bachman Lake
Bachman Lake Information:
This 205 surface acre lake is located on Bachman Creek, a tributary of the Trinity River. The maximum depth is 14 feet. It was impounded in 1903. The lake is used for recreation and fishing. Amenities include the Dallas Rowing Club, the Bachman Lake Recreation Center, a playground, a pavilion, a concrete/asphalt 5K hike and mike trail with a 16 station exercise circuit, water fountains and benches along the trail, restrooms on the south side of the trail, a two lane paved boat ramp and parking for 5 boat trailers. The lake has a five horsepower limit on boat motors; anglers may use electric trolling motors. Predominant fish species include largemouth bass, channel and blue catfish, white crappie and sunfish. Open year round; no fees apply. The lake is controlled by the City of Dallas Parks Department. (214) 670-1923. The trail is along the northern bank. The lake is located on the north side of Love Field Airport. The boat ramp and park area are located on the south side of the lake off Shorecrest Drive, just north of the Dallas Love Field Airport.

Bachman Creek (Branch):
The 10 mile creek rises in Forest Lane, Texas, 0.5 miles west of the Dallas North Tollway. It flows south and then west to Bachman Lake. Below the lake it flows into the Elm Fork of the Trinity River.
Dallas Rowing Club:
The club offers high performance and masters rowing training programs. Summer camps are available for children ages ten and over. The club hosts regattas and other events.
